Rancho Cordova, CA: More than 2,500 people gathered at Stone Creek Park on October 25 for Suvidha International Diwali 2026, a vibrant celebration of Indian culture, traditions, and community unity. Organized by Suvidha International Foundation in partnership with the City of Rancho Cordova, the free family event featured colorful cultural performances, live music, traditional competitions, nearly 40 business and nonprofit stalls, children's activities, and a spectacular aerial fireworks display.

The festival brought together people from diverse backgrounds to celebrate Diwali, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

Bhaskar Vempati, founder and president of Suvidha International Foundation, thanked California Governor Gavin Newsom and his administration for officially recognizing Diwali as a state holiday. He said the recognition reflected California's commitment to cultural diversity, inclusion, and community unity.

More than 20 elected officials, civic leaders, educational representatives, and business executives attended. Among the distinguished guests were Congressman Kevin Kiley, Assemblymember Josh Hoover, and Rancho Cordova City Council Member Siri Pulipati. Representatives from Senator Roger Niello's office, Sacramento County, Folsom City Council, SMUD, local school districts, colleges, and regional business organizations also participated.

Audiences enjoyed performances by The Light of Dance Academy, Team Kaladhaara, Rhythmic Revolts, Natya Tarang, BK Raj Yoga Meditation Center, and Seniors of Sacramento. Live musical presentations by Gongura and Raaganjali groups added to the festive atmosphere. Rangoli, costume, and traditional Indian attire competitions showcased creativity and cultural heritage.

Families explored food and merchandise stalls, carnival games, henna, and a Diwali-themed photo booth. The evening concluded with spectacular fireworks illuminating the Rancho Cordova sky.

Suvidha representatives also promoted the celebration on Good Day Sacramento on October 19, while CBS13 News covered the October 25 festivities.

The event's success reflected the dedication of an organizing team led by Vempati and Vandna Sharma, along with numerous volunteers, youth participants, and employees of Intel, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Micron, AMD, and Blue Shield of California. Emcees Renuka Kuchipudi, Esha, Uthara, Krishna Kishore, and Dhatri kept the audience engaged.

Organizers acknowledged the support of the City of Rancho Cordova, sponsors, vendors, performers, and community partners, including SMUD, Golden 1 Credit Union, Korean Plaza International Market, and Reliance Supermart.

Beyond cultural celebrations, Suvidha International Foundation, a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, supports education, youth development, scholarships, women's empowerment, and humanitarian initiatives in the United States and India.
