New Delhi, January 20: In a moment of pride for the journalistic and literary fraternity, India Tribune’s senior journalist, noted litterateur, and respected social thinker Lalit Garg will be conferred with the prestigious ‘Patrakar Shiromani’ Award, recognizing his more than four decades of principled, creative, and public-interest-oriented contributions to journalism and literature. The honor will be presented by the Shrut Seva Nidhi Trust, a reputed institution devoted to the promotion of Jain philosophy, literature, and social consciousness.

The award ceremony is scheduled for February 8, 2026, during the Aksharabhiṣek Utsav to be held at the auditorium of Firozabad Club Limited in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. The event is expected to draw journalists, writers, academicians, and social workers from across the country, reflecting the wide respect Lalit Garg commands in intellectual and social circles.

According to the Trust’s General Secretary, Amit Kumar Jain, the award will be presented under the Shrimati Shantidevi Gupta Shrut Seva Alankaran. As part of the honor, Lalit Garg will receive a cash award of ₹25,000, a citation, a shawl, a garland, a certificate of appreciation, and a curated set of literary works. The recognition is intended to celebrate journalism rooted in values, ethics, and social responsibility.

For over 40 years, Lalit Garg has remained continuously active in journalism, literature, and reflective writing. Widely regarded as a distinguished intellectual figure in the national capital, Delhi, he has consistently used his pen to awaken public consciousness on social, cultural, and national issues. His writing style—fearless yet balanced, thoughtful yet grounded in values—has earned him credibility across ideological lines. Over the years, he has edited several reputed journals and magazines, and many of his books have been published, contributing meaningfully to contemporary Hindi literature and thought.

Beyond journalism, Garg’s engagement with society has been equally deep and sustained. He is actively associated with multiple social and cultural organizations and currently serves as the Executive Chairman of the Suryanagar Educational Society and the President of the Sukhi Parivar Foundation. Through the Sukhi Parivar Foundation, he has spearheaded numerous initiatives focused on tribal welfare, social empowerment, family values, and community development in Gujarat and other regions of the country.

Lalit Garg has also maintained a long-standing association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and throughout his life’s work he has articulated themes of nationalism, cultural awareness, and social harmony.
