Chicago: The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) Chicago has announced a series of events to commemorate India's Independence Day, inviting the community to participate in celebrations honoring India's rich heritage, patriotism, and unity.
The festivities will begin on August 6 with the traditional Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Daley Plaza in downtown Chicago at 11:30 a.m., bringing together community leaders, dignitaries, and residents to pay tribute to India's freedom.
On August 15, FIA Chicago, in collaboration with India Hub, will organize the vibrant Tiranga Car Rally. The rally will commence at 9:30 a.m. from 930 National Parkway, Schaumburg, Illinois, with participants proudly displaying the Indian tricolor as they celebrate the nation's Independence Day.
The celebrations will continue on August 16 with a Patriotic Gala at Haridham Mandir, located at 540 South Martingale Road, Schaumburg, featuring cultural performances and patriotic programs.
The grand finale will take place on August 23 with the annual India Day Parade on Devon Avenue, Chicago. The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Western Avenue and Devon Avenue and conclude near California Avenue.
