New Delhi: Sachin Tendulkar is all set to get a serious lifestyle upgrade. The government it seems is pulling out all stops to make the Master Blaster feel “at home” in Delhi.
Sachin Tendulkar, who is now a Rajya Sabha member, will be allotted a government bungalow in Lutyen’s Delhi. And it seems he will be staying in the bungalow opposite the one where currently Rahul Gandhi stays. That’s as posh as posh goes.
Sachin Tendulkar’s new address in Delhi could be 5, Tughlaq Lane. The house is a huge Type 7 bungalow, and is located opposite the house of Rahul Gandhi, 12 Tughlaq Lane.
Corporate Affairs Minister, Veerappa Moily, who stays in 3, Tughlaq Lane, will be his neighbor.
The house is spread over nearly 7,000 square feet, has big lawns and five spacious bedrooms.
Tendulkar, who is given Z+ security cover, has been given an upgrade from the Type 6 bungalow to which he is rightfully entitled following his security status.
He will get two escort vehicles, and an army of 50 security personnel will guard his residence.
This is the same scale of security cover that he gets in Mumbai from the Maharasthra government, owing to various terror threats issued against him.
Meanwhile, Rekha, who too took oath as a Rajya Sabha member has been allotted a type 6 bungalow. Rekha may be allotted Bungalow No. 15 on Balwant Rai Mehta lane on Delhi’s posh Kasturba Gandhi road area. Reports say that Rekha was earlier allotted a flat in a multistorey housing complex built for MPs, but the Parliamentary Committee failed to get a no objection certificate from the actor for it after which she is being allotted the government bungalow.
