New York: Kapoor’s documentary on human trafficking in India won the gold award at a prestigious event in New York, with Moore’s coming a close second.
Anil Kapoor, is an ambassador for The Freedom Project, an organization working to eradicate slavery and human trafficking. A documentary which was made to create awareness about human trafficking in India, called Trapped By Tradition, recently won the Gold Prize in the Cultural Issues category at the New York Festival’s International TV and Film Awards 2012. The silver prize went to a documentary by Hollywood actress Demi Moore, which focused on trafficking in Nepal.
