Srinagar: Heavy snowfall across Kashmir has affected normal life and rendered the Valley cut off from the rest of the country with the Srinagar-Jammu national highway closed and air traffic suspended.
Snowfall, which began on January 17, has continued and resulted in the snapping of electricity and water supply lines in several parts of the Valley, official sources said.
While most places in the Valley have received around 1.5 feet of fresh snow since on January 17, Srinagar city itself got around five inches of snow.
The snowfall has forced closure of the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the only all-weather road link between Kashmir and the rest of the country.
