Kochi: Beating the metros and IT cities, Kerala’s commercial capital Kochi has topped the chart for having the largest number of obese population.
The national survey was done by across 11 Indian cities A. C. Nielsen, a market research consultancy company.
Almost half of the Kochi population is overweight and 46 percent of the people in the city are above their ideal weight, 13 percent are obese and 7 percent morbidly obese.
The cities surveyed were Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Delhi, Ludhi-ana, Jaipur, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Nagpur.
