Need to re-establish Hinduism and Hindu identity

San Jose, CA: Anil Parmar, in his opinion — Indians must popularize their country’s name as Hindustan — published in India Tribune dated April 26, expresses disappointment that the name of Hindu-land is not Hindustan in comparison to most other countries whose names are based on race or religion of the majority or based on geography.
The name, Hindustan, for a majority Hindu-land is a birthright, just as Scotland’s for Scottish people, Ireland for Irish people and England for English (Anglaise) people.
Hindustan welcomed in the past people in distress of different races and religion. Love for humanity that was a strength in the past has now become a weakness of the Hindus. The Christians have an organization; the Muslims have brotherhood; the Hindus have nothing but ignorance and disunity.
Most Hindus lack pride in their culture and history of their nation and believe lies about their history as taught in books written by foreigners.
For Hindus, India’s Independence Day should be the day of sorrow — the commencement of the break-up of Hindu Motherland into India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Further break-ups are afoot. The gutless and impotent governments of India, dependent upon the minority vote-banks, cannot save Hindu-land from further breakups and given new names.
In a land where Hindu deities are disrespected, Hindus are relieved of the management of their temples, their children suffer because of government’s policy to divide and rule. Hindus have a hard task in front of them — unite or perish. Nothing less than organized brotherhood is going to get the name Hindustan into prominence from obscurity.
Gandhi and Nehru lost parts of Hindustan to others. The only redemption for them would have been to jump into a holy fire. There is no salvation for the Hindus until they stop following such leaders who do not love the majority. Until then the name Hindustan will have to reside underground.
